Sky Lessons

i.

Traffic and birdsong

layer in the shifting breeze. What

if we belong here?

ii.

Windows streaked with last

night’s rain—light, through each droplet,

writes its own story.

iii.

The eagles are back.

Two bright heads bend over a

fish. We can share this.

iv.

When the wind drops and

water is glass—just the

gust in every breath.

v.

There are days when no

birds sing—only a passing

car in a heavy sigh.

vi.

Season of retreat.

Warm days ignite whatever

cold nights extinguish.

vii.

A great fog has hushed

the world. Now I can hear

the roar inside me.

viii.

Could I find a home someplace

other than this life? Only

if I were looking.
